Extinguishing the Darkness

Extinguishing the Darkness

You are my Light.
I need not fear the darkness,
Even in the very depths of myself.

You know me.
You are with me.
I am not alone.

You are my Defense.
You alone are my Judge.
You are exceedingly merciful and gentle.

I need not waver.
I need only trust Your Hand
As You lead and guide me.

I have no need of anything, save You.
You are my Personal Savior.
You are my Personal Bravery.

In You – I am made well and whole.
In You – I am freed and delivered.
In You – I am made strong and bold.

Shine! Oh, shine in this dark and frightful place!
Envelop me in Your ardently burning Light
And extinguish all my darkness and gloom.

Malachi 4:2

But unto you who revere and worshipfully fear My name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings and His beams, and you shall go forth and gambol like calves [released] from the stall and leap for joy.

Micah 7:8b & 9b

When I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light to me. He will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold His righteous deliverance.

About unabashedhope

The name Unabashed Hope comes from my favorite poem by Emily Dickinson. Unabashed means not embarrassed, disconcerted or ashamed. I believe Emily's poem, Hope is the Thing with Feathers, says it best: Hope is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul, And sings the tune without the words, And never stops at all, And sweetest in the gale is heard; And sore must be the storm That could abash the little bird That kept so many warm. I've heard it in the chilliest land And on the strangest sea; Yet, never, in extremity, It asked a crumb of me.
