Filled with Joy

Filled with Joy

Truth in my inner being,
This is my desire,
This is my aim.

Cause me to know Truth
Fully from the very center
Of my heart and soul.

Force all lies and doubt to
Be thrusted to the surface,
Removed and replaced by Truth.

Cleanse me of my sin
– secret and known.
Wash me thoroughly.

Let the broken places
Be infused with healing
That I may pour forth praise.

Grant me a heart that is
Both willing and pure
Ever filled with Your joy.

Psalms 51:6-12 – Prayer/Promise

Behold, You desire truth in the inner being; make me therefore to know wisdom in my inmost heart. Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean [ceremonially]; wash me, and I shall [in reality] be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness and be satisfied; let the bones which You have broken rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my guilt and iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me. Cast me not away from Your presence and take not Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit.

About unabashedhope

The name Unabashed Hope comes from my favorite poem by Emily Dickinson. Unabashed means not embarrassed, disconcerted or ashamed. I believe Emily's poem, Hope is the Thing with Feathers, says it best: Hope is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul, And sings the tune without the words, And never stops at all, And sweetest in the gale is heard; And sore must be the storm That could abash the little bird That kept so many warm. I've heard it in the chilliest land And on the strangest sea; Yet, never, in extremity, It asked a crumb of me.
