Little Girl Lost

Little Lost Girl

Pushing others away.
Haunted by my past.
Will things ever be any different
Than they always have been?
Current situations painfully
Echo events of the past.

As I grieve and cease denying
The little lost girl way deep down
On the inside of me,
I am opening up myself
More and more to Jesus.

He is taking me by the hand
And leading me step by step
Into freedom ā€“
Wide-open spacious freedom!

Oh, Jesus, open my eyes wide
So that I may see,
There are many more with me
Than are opposed to me.
I am not surrounded by my enemies ā€“
They are surrounded by You
And the full host of heaven!

About unabashedhope

The name Unabashed Hope comes from my favorite poem by Emily Dickinson. Unabashed means not embarrassed, disconcerted or ashamed. I believe Emily's poem, Hope is the Thing with Feathers, says it best: Hope is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul, And sings the tune without the words, And never stops at all, And sweetest in the gale is heard; And sore must be the storm That could abash the little bird That kept so many warm. I've heard it in the chilliest land And on the strangest sea; Yet, never, in extremity, It asked a crumb of me.

    • Bless you and thank you taking the time to respond. The process of healing reveals many things. Some painful. Some precious. I am happy to be caring for that little girl inside of me instead of locking her up. Blessings and hugs to you too! šŸ˜€
