Knowing You

Knowing You

I long to know You more
Than any memory or experience
I have ever had.

I long for You to be more real to me
Than anything I have
Ever known or endured.

The cost has been excessive
But it is nothing
Compared to You.

Just as You did
With the Israelites of old
You have shown me things
I have never witnessed before.

You have taken me places
I have never known
On paths I have never seen.

I love it when You speak to me,
Through Your many ways and methods.

I never grow bored of seeing
Your hand moving in my life.

I am in awe of the sheer fact
That the Great God of the Universe
Converses with me.

I want to know You more.
I want to love You more.
I want to see Your face
And make You smile.

I love You so much right now
But I long to love You even more.

About Ttwjlma

The name Unabashed Hope comes from my favorite poem by Emily Dickinson. Unabashed means not embarrassed, disconcerted or ashamed. I believe Emily's poem, Hope is the Thing with Feathers, says it best: Hope is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul, And sings the tune without the words, And never stops at all, And sweetest in the gale is heard; And sore must be the storm That could abash the little bird That kept so many warm. I've heard it in the chilliest land And on the strangest sea; Yet, never, in extremity, It asked a crumb of me.
